Circon Umwelt GmbH develops sustainable industrial solutions to rethink recyclable materials and close resource cycles. At the heart of our work is pyrolysis, a thermochemical process that we use to convert previously difficult-to-recycle materials into high-quality products.

Our goal is clear: replace primary fossil raw materials, keep recyclable materials in circulation, and make industrial processes more sustainable—in an economically viable, scalable, and collaborative approach.

Pyrolysis - Resource recovery instead of disposal

Pyrolysis is a thermochemical process in which carbon-containing materials are broken down into their essential components under controlled conditions. In contrast to energy recovery, it enables material recovery, in which materials are specifically reused.

Depending on the source material, the following products are generated, among others:

  • Pyrolytic oils as a basis for new chemical applications
  • Carbon-containing solids such as recovered carbon black
  • Process gases for energy recovery
  • Metal residues as secondary raw materials

Circon Umwelt pursues a modular, scalable, and industry-compatible approach that can be flexibly adapted to different material flows, locations, and market requirements.

Our projects aim to produce secondary raw materials that can not only be recovered, but also used in a specific purpose. Quality, practical application, and marketability are our top priorities.

Typical product paths include:

  • Recovered carbon black (rCB) for industrial applications, materials, and compounds
  • Pyrolysis oils and distillates as feedstocks for further chemical processing
  • Metallic fractions as recycled secondary metals

We do not think of our products as standard goods. Together with our partners, we develop customer-specific solutions and application-optimized products – right up to engineered products that are precisely customized to industrial requirements.
